On April 6, 2019 The Eating Disorder Foundation (“EDF”) will celebrate its seventh annual Icebreaker Gala, our largest fundraiser of the year, at the Grand Hyatt Denver at 1750 Welton St.This special evening will include a cocktail/silent auction reception, live auction, dinner, and dancing. “i.c.e.” is our symbol of hope and recovery, which is the acronym for “I Can Eat.”  This year, we will be honoring renowned eating disorder clinician, author, international speaker, and founder of Monte Nido treatment centers, Carolyn Costin, with the Greg Hueni Memorial Award for significant contributions in the field.

The Eating Disorder Foundation is a Denver 501(c)(3) non-profit whose broadest aim is to radically alter the trajectory of suffering, illness and death that accompanies eating disorders. We are not a treatment facility. By offering extensive support services, educational outreach and resources for treatment, EDF is breaking the silence and shame that stand in the way of getting help. We are the only resource of its kind in the U.S., providing drop-in support, workshops, and weekly support groups in Denver and beyond for people who are struggling, as well as their families and friends – all free of charge, thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers. The warm, home-like and non-judgmental environment we have created encourages community, recovery and hope. We also deliver age-specific educational presentations about body image and eating disorders to schools and community organizations throughout Colorado – free of charge. Our services are all conducted with an openness to innovation, dedication to self-realization and an unshakeable belief that nothing should be allowed to compromise the humanity of those we serve.
