Daniella Gilady (she/her)

Executive Director

Raised in the close-knit community of Boulder, CO, Dani has cultivated a rich background in both international relations and transpersonal counseling. She earned her B.A. in International Relations from the Interdisciplinary Center in Israel and went on to complete her M.A. in Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University in Boulder. Dani began her career at The Eating Disorder Foundation in 2017 and continues to feel deeply grateful to work for an organization that aligns with her values of accessibility, community, and education. Dani is deeply committed to serving the eating disorder community with dignity and compassion and has a special interest in supporting caregivers and loved ones.

These days most of Dani’s free time is spent with her young daughter and close family. She also enjoys practicing yoga, listening to lighthearted podcasts, and going on adventures. Her passion for meeting new people and gathering diverse experiences, fuels her approach to life.

Lydia Rhino (any)

Lydia grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and relocated to Denver nearly 10 years ago to begin their recovery adventure. They completed their B.S. in Human Development and Family Relationship from the University of Colorado Denver where they conducted research on the demographic barriers to eating disorder treatment access. From experiences within their own family system, Lydia became aware of the crucial need for education and support for individuals, families, and communities of folx affected by eating disorders. They are thrilled to be on the forefront of creating lasting change to support those in the community through literacy, advocacy and responsibility. When Lydia is out of the office, they can be found dancing to live music, listening to audiobooks in the sunshine, pampering their Pomeranian (Bear), and losing card games to their spouse.

McKenna Ganz (she/her)

McKenna grew up in Colorado Springs and lives in Denver, Colorado. She received her B.A. in Global Cultural Studies and Political Science from Duke University, and also minored in Economics and Global Health. She has studied advocacy movements around the world in Nepal, Jordan, and Chile. McKenna is passionate about nonprofit advocacy and has worked to support a number of nonprofits through administrative support and development; her work builds community support for vulnerable populations in Colorado and strives to improve quality of life in her community. She is a passionate environmentalist and channels her love of food justice through the garden at EDF; you will often find her busy growing food here at A Place of Our Own.

Firefly (He/Him)

Office Dog

Firefly is our part-time office pup and full-time morale booster. You can usually find him in the office on Tuesdays, where he specializes in greeting visitors during our drop-in hours, providing meal support (aka begging), and bringing a little extra warmth to the team. When he’s not on duty, Firefly enjoys naps, hikes, and being told he’s a very good boy.
