We invite you to bring questions and ideas in an effort to help all of us be strong clinicians. Case conversations can provide opportunities to adhere to evidence-based practices, tailor treatment approaches, navigate difficult issues, and facilitate self-awareness.
If you are on the path to becoming a CEDS, group supervision hours will be available. Each COPro Case Conversations gathering will be guided by a CEDS Approved Consultant.

Our goal is to facilitate deep conversations and generate new insights, at this time we don’t have any plans for skill building specifically.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how past lessons have shaped current best practices—and what lies ahead for the future of treatment.

Key Breakthroughs in Eating Disorder Treatment:

Trauma-Informed Care: Recognizing and integrating trauma into treatment plans at higher levels of care.

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) in the DSM-5: The formal inclusion of BED, acknowledgment of weight stigma, and the rise of Health at Every Size (HAES) as a guiding principle.

Diversity and Inclusion: Increased awareness and prioritization of inclusivity in eating disorder treatment.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): From a little-known approach in 2000 to one of the most widely used treatment modalities today.

Virtual Treatment: The expansion of technology-driven care, increasing accessibility and personalization of treatment.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify three health consequences of weight-loss-focused BED treatment.
  2. Describe the inclusion and exclusion criteria for home-based eating disorder care.

Dr. Wendy Oliver-Pyatt, MD, FAED, FAPA

Dr. Wendy Oliver-Pyatt is a world-leading expert on treating eating disorders. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, she has developed five distinctive treatment programs, all grounded on a strong bio-psycho-social foundation, and incorporating intensive psychotherapy, with behavioral foundations, and high medical standards. Wendy has developed a unique treatment approach that delves into the underlying issues that place a person at risk for mental health conditions and eating disorders and lead to healing, health and inner peace

Wendy received her specialty training at New York University-Bellevue Hospital in New York City, she has also held faculty positions at New York University, Albert Einstein School of Medicine and University of Nevada School of Medicine. Wendy is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in both Adult and Addiction Psychiatry. She is the author of two books, most recently Questions and Answers on Binge Eating Disorder, A Guide for Clinicians. She is a Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She has received Senatorial Recognition for her commitment to the mental health treatment community.
