Toni Saiber - Chair
Toni Saiber Picture
Toni Saiber helped found this organization after facing death in her own struggle with an eating disorder. With the support and love of her husband, family and friends she survived and is devoted to helping those who struggle with this disease. Over the last 25 years she has been a successful interior designer and well known in her community. She is committed to the success of the Foundation with the great hope of eliminating this illness.



Robert Denerstein - Vice-Chair
Robert Denerstein PictureFor 27 years, Robert Denerstein was the film critic at The Rocky Mountain News, a Denver daily that has now vanished from the publishing scene. A round of buyouts made it possible for Denerstein to do seek out new challenges. Since leaving the News, he had made several short films (with a partner), has been teaching film and runs a year-round program -- The Colorado Cinema Salon -- for the Denver Film Society. Denerstein learned about eating disorders through his film work, and has remained committed to helping the Foundation in its efforts to educate the public about the ravages of eating disorders and the many pathways to recovery.



Lauren Sigman - Treasurer
Lauren Sigman PictureLauren Sigman has over 35 years of experience in personal financial planning, divorce planning, finance and real estate. She created Sigman Financial Fitness® to work with people looking for individualized, creative ways to manage their financial fitness, no matter what shape they're in.

An avid skier and rock climber, Lauren's passion for the outdoors drew her to Colorado in the early '90s. Before moving to Colorado, Lauren spent 12 years in the financial industry in New York. She was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Co., a financial analyst with J.W. O'Connor & Co., and Vice President of Finance for Silverstein Properties, a Forbes 400 commercial real estate developer in New York City, where she was responsible for arranging over $1 billion in financing.

Lauren is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, a member of the Colorado Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and an Associate Member of the Colorado Bar Association in the Family Law division. She is also a member of the Colorado Collaborative Law Professionals (“CCLP”), and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (“IACP”). She earned her undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 1980 and her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1984.


Board Members

Sue Feld
Sue Feld PictureSue Feld is a Denver native. She moved to Boulder in 1982 where she lived for the next 28 years raising her 3 daughters. Sue owned and operated restaurants in both Denver and Boulder during that time.

For the past 3 years Sue has been committed to EDF and serves as Co-Chair of the Parent Outreach Committee. As a parent of a child who suffered from an eating disorder, Sue has first hand knowledge of the challenges that families are faced with when a loved one has been affected by this devastating illness.

Sue now lives in Denver spending time volunteering, practicing yoga and pilates, and has a love for cooking. She spends as much time as she can with her girls and her two beautiful grandchildren.



Stephanie Firman
Stephanie Firman PictureStephanie has been an active volunteer for over 40 years. Before having her three children she put in many hours at Children's Hospital in Denver. After her children started school she volunteered at Colorado Academy first in the classroom, then ran the school auction raising $100,000 and finally sat on the board. She and her husband then helped run a $7 million capital campaign.

In 1985 Stephanie became a CASA (court appointed special advocate) helping Guardian ad Litems advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system. This led her to volunteer for the Kempe Center where she was trained to support new mothers who had not bonded with their new babies. This work along with her own recovery from an eating disorder, prompted a return to school. Having received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971, she enrolled at the University of Colorado at Denver in 1990 to obtain a masters in professional counseling. In 1998 she opened a Women's Resource Center called Dovecote, where she counseled, ran workshops, maintained a garden and provided space for various groups, book clubs, and artists wanting to show their work. The support group run by EDF today for families and friends of loved ones with eating disorders was run out of Dovecote for 8 years.

Stephanie retired in 2006, sold Dovecote and now spends half the year in Florida. Not wanting to really retire she still holds both her counseling and real estate licenses in Colorado and has been trained to do hospice work in both Colorado and Florida. Stephanie and Rook, her husband of 41 years have lived in Denver for over 30 years. Denver is home to their three children who are now married with children of their own.



Ellen Hart
Ellen Hart PictureEllen Hart is a mother of three who is a graduate of both Harvard University and the University of Colorado Law School. Ellen is a two-time winner of the Bolder Boulder, and the 2010 winner of the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii. She is a past member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and the U.S. Olympic Committee. In 1996, ABC television presented “Dying to Be Perfect- the Ellen Hart Pena Story” which was aired on HBO and Lifetime. She has a degree in nutrition therapy, and teaches primarily low-income populations.



Sarah Hueni
Sarah Hueni PictureSarah Hueni is a Denver native. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and then received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Denver. She first started volunteering with the EDF about four years ago after receiving treatment for her own eating disorder.

Currently, Sarah works at a local oil and gas development company as an engineering technician. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, running, hiking, snowboarding, or really any activity that is outdoors.



Tracy Reinhard
Tracy Reinhard PictureAfter earning her undergraduate degree in Psychology; a Masters of Education; and a J.D., Tracy Reinhard practiced corporate, securities, real estate and intellectual property law in Los Angeles. Tracy moved to Denver in 1992, where she became a high-level business executive in the cable industry for TCI. In 2001, Tracy pursued an MBA from DU, and became the Director of Operations and Business Development for the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.

She left the Newman Center a few years ago to support her new family, which consists of her two teenage boys, three step-children and a 2 ˝ year old daughter. Tracy was introduced to EDF by her good friend Toni Saiber, and sits on three other boards in addition to EDF – Rose Women’s Foundation (President elect 2013); Cherry Creek Theater; and, The National Center for Intervention (President). Tracy is deeply committed to EDF, and to being of service to the Denver community.


Executive Director

Amy Bourdo
Amy Bourdo PictureOriginally from Wisconsin, Amy Bourdo completed graduate school and relocated to Colorado in 1995. She worked for Principal Financial Group as a life insurance agent before becoming Regional Director for a life insurance company she started with her father. She became an ACE certified Personal Trainer, worked for a private training studio and eventually started her own practice.

While maintaining her personal training practice, Amy became Program Director for the Feelings Place, a three day intensive outpatient program. It was here that Amy started her therapy private practice in 2002 and has continued to focus on eating disorders, trauma, relationship issues and mood disorders. She has additional training in Gestalt and is EMDR certified level 1 & 2.

Amy has volunteered with The Eating Disorder Foundation since 2008 as Chair of the Professionals Committee and helped create the training curriculum for EDF’s speaker’s bureau program.

Amy received her BS degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her MS degree in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. It was in college where Amy struggled with her own eating disorder. Amy and her husband Jeff live in Denver.

Karen Imber
Karen Imber PictureKaren Imber is a Denver native who has over 25 years experience working in the Software Industry.

Karen possesses a unique blend of business and technical savvy. She spends her spare time as EDF's Volunteer IT Consultant. To help improve the inefficiencies of management by spreadsheet, she recently implemented a new web-based fundraising software solution enabling EDF to have a single view of their constituents and donations as well as enabling EDF to streamline their communications. Being a self-taught web developer she also maintains EDF’s website. In addition, she has played a key role in the business planning of the new Support Center and supports the technical needs of all facets of the organization. Karen also designed and made the first line of EDF’s i.c.e. Jewelry Collection.

Karen is in recovery from a severe 30+ year eating disorder and volunteering at EDF has been an important factor in her recovery. She not only values the connections that she has made but it is important to her that as business decisions are being made, she help represent the voice of those who have or are struggling with eating disorders.
